Believe in yourself

Believe in yourself - standing for what you believe in regardless of the odds against you and the pressure that tears at your resistance means courage. Keeping a smile on your face when inside you feel like dying for the sake of supporting others means courage. Stopping at nothing and doing what in heart means determination.Holding your head high and being the best you know you can be when life seems to fall apart at your feet and facing each difficulty with the confidence that time will bring u better tomorrow and never giving up means believing in yourself

Summer guide for extreme weight loss

My results:

I lost about 26 kg (57 lbs) total and about 16 kg (35 lbs) from February 15. I also went from (28% body fat to Single digit body fat percentage) in just about 3 months. I achieved following with zero knowledge of ingredients in my food. I don’t know how to cook and I have to eat out all the time. To further etch my troubles I am a vegetarian (don’t eat eggs either).  This seriously created elongated search for food that I can consume that can provide me sufficient amount of controlled protein.

I didn’t work out at all for one and half month due to outside temperature being above 42 C (105 F). I didn’t have access to any air conditioning or even controlled bath temperature.  Due to lack of control on external temperature, I avoided workouts as they created skin tearing and excessive sweating that lead to dehydration. Workouts are meant to improve your fitness not decrease it. I would shower in whatever the temperature of water was.  I just showered late in night or early mornings so that I could shower in water temperature that I enjoyed.

Advice I took in account:

  1. Cut down gluten and dairy.
  2. Drink cold water only.
  3. Don’t eat anything white in color except cottage cheese that has high amount of casein.
  4. Take supplements
  5. Whey proteins shake as soon as you wake up.
  6.  No fruits
  7.  Cheat day on Sunday (there is zero limit to it)

My Experiments:
Cheat Day:
Earlier I found myself consuming too much liquid only calories on cheat days. I didn’t have enough energy to last throughout the week. So I decided to allow any sort of drinking calories on Saturday and eat solids on Sunday. After I lost enough weight, I experimented with idea of cheat weekends where I would binge throughout weekends. I personally found binging alternate weekends most fruitful.
1st week – Cheat day only on Sunday
2nd week – Saturday and Sunday
3rd week – Only Sunday
4th week – Saturday and Sunday
This has been most fruitful for me. Moreover, on 1st and 3rd week I would consume last meal on Saturday and 1st meal on Sunday were at least about 16 hours apart.

Post - Workout:

I started working out with Beachbody Insanity DVD program after external temperature reached acceptable level. I have habit of working out earlier in the day that is before I go to office. Insanity is such a demanding program that you feel drained out in your office and you can’t give your 100% to work,

I started trying foods that provided me complete recovery after workout. I didn’t want to spend extra money on supplements. I wanted something that would fill my stomach. I always found myself extremely hungry after the workouts. I found sugarcane juice (mixed with mint and ginger) to be most promising post workout. I felt absolutely no tiredness after 30 minutes of consuming sugarcane juice.  I believe this is the best natural recovery drink

After sugarcane season was over, I wanted to find something that could provide me with same results. So far combination of Acai berry shot of 30 ml (mixed with pomegranate, blueberry and raspberry) and coconut water (with coconut cream), provided good results. It wasn’t as good as sugarcane though. I figured consuming a bite of jaggery along with it.  I feel completely invigorated after consuming these foods.

Temperature Moderation:
I didn’t have access to Air Conditioning in such high temperatures that I was forced to find alternatives that would provide me refreshing sleep. I figured putting my shawl in deep freezer through the day and bought an ice pack that was kept around my cushion. I was able to get very fine sleep with such setting.

DVD workout:

When you live in a small town/city, it can be very arduous task finding a quality fitness instructor who can provide you those results you desire. There are very few instructors who know how body works and even though they know how it works, they aren’t updated with latest techniques that can provide maximum results in shortest period of time. It can also cost a fortune to hire a good instructor who can give you what you desire. If you aren’t getting any noticeable result at all in first month, chances are you aren’t doing it right.

For you the best bet is DVD workouts which you can do at your home. There are thousands of DVD programs out there in market that promise you to give your day worth of workout. Different workouts suit different people according to personal dreams. Some people just want to be thin, while other desires to achieve something with their body. Some want to jump longer, run faster, look ripped or even do some serious body building.  Deep down core need is to look better than you looked month before.  Funny part about your fitness is you are growing older by month and not younger, yet you want to look better than before.

Choosing a good DVD program:

Select a program that gives you time table and schedule in which you will achieve results. There should be lot of variation in the workout where you can train every part of your body. It shouldn’t be just upper body or lower body. Workout should train all your weak spots. Moreover, there should be variation in the workout where you do different workout on different days. Workout should come with a nutrition guide that provides optimal nutrition for program with help of specialist who you can contact. You should be able to talk to Developer Company in case you have any question. Company should have specialist who can answer your queries. Possibly with someone having mastery in sports nutrition

Recap for requirement of good workout DVD:
·        Variation
·        Provide you time table in which you will see results.
·        Train every body part
·        Nutrition guide with contact person to ask queries
·        Message board where you can interact with people who are doing same program as you
·        Should be challenging enough that you feel out of your comfort zone

Why do I do what I do? Case: Impromptu Mechanization

Why do I do what I do? Case: Impromptu Mechanization

It has been roller coaster ride for me. Lately, I have realized, it is my enigma that creates a communication gap.
There is various way people learn the information. My method is visualization, actions and kinesthetic. If I am unable to understand a concept,
I will have to create a flow map in my head and understand how pieces join together. If concepts are too wide and I can't fit them in a puzzle, I have to physically create actions that create visualization and a closure.  Last and foremost important is Kinesthetic. Kinesthetic creates level of connection that is beyond paradigm of language. It has been found that when a female suffers from a shock, they look for kinesthetic cues (even from a stranger that comforts than 30% more than being left alone.
Kinesthetic people find it easier to connect with the world and solve complex problems by virtualization and mechanization. They tend to create deeper bond with environment, people and themselves. They are more aware and controlling about their RAS (Reticular Activation System)
Cues
It is easy to consider kinesthetic learner as fools due to inability to comprehend basic logic parameters. Kinesthetic people are not generally not known for being very good Mathematicians as they lack ability to comprehend something that is not physical.
However on deeper interaction, their ability to dissect and comprehend complex information may spell bound many. Furthermore, if a person is a keen to learn, he will be able to stupefy most ordinary being. With this canny ability they are able to create mystical aura about themselves that makes them center of the attention and in most occasion an attractive and interesting personality. However, if someone is very cynical, then he may create tension and unnecessary boredom that may drive people away.

Skills

Most kinesthetic learners are very hyper active and can learn information when you think they aren't paying any attention to you. It is their capability to multi-task that keeps lot of teachers / trainer confused and in awe.
Some of the great psycho - analyst have given them names such as Da Vinci learners or Indigo personalities.
There is cognitive disassociation between effectiveness and defocused. I believe it is not they can’t handle work burden. It is when task at hand seems too uninteresting to them, they lose cognitive relation with the training or process. They have short attention span where either you capture their attention or you may lose them completely for foreseeable future until they decide it is essential they get back to it due to external factors.
I believe such people should rather have access to self paced material which they require to finish in given time can produce fantastic result. The deadlines keep them on toes, else some of them may lose the focus (I understand it is not possible for other humans to make someone focus however, it is possible to keep them in check by showing them leniency with boundaries.

Requirements for Pragmatism: (will be covered in upcoming posts )

Life Is Behavior By Tony Horton

I've learned from my own experiences (filled with the usual trials and tribulations) that life has stages. These stages can occur in any and all aspects of life—physical, spiritual, psychological, financial, romantic, adventurous, familial, and so on. As you look back at your life (so far), you can see where you've excelled and where you've come up short.
Tony Horton
Most people spend their whole lives focusing on only two or three of the abovementioned categories. They neglect other areas of life because of lack of interest or desire or necessity. The truth is that a lot of men and women these days spend a substantial amount of their time working to keep a roof over their heads, food on the table, and money in their pockets. Many homemakers (male and female) spend most of their time keeping the hatches battened down.
So if life feels like an endless episode of Survivor, then how the hell do we focus on what I call the "Bliss Maker" areas of life—the romantic, spiritual/psychological, physical, purposeful, and adventurous areas? The three key ingredients for finding bliss in these areas of life are TIME, ENERGY, and PURPOSE. If you live in a 9-to-5 world and feel overwhelmed, then it's going to be pretty tough to find the TIME, ENERGY, and PURPOSE to discover your true bliss.
The average person can find temporary bliss in food, alcohol, drugs, tall tales, and sex. This kind of short-term bliss will take away health, consciousness, rationality, discretion, accountability, and responsibility, along with distorting values and a sense of morality.
If you're lucky enough to finally discover that there's more to life than making a buck, feeding your face, getting off, and manipulating reality, you'll start to inquire about how to find your bliss. Then you'll have to begin to find the TIME, ENERGY, and PURPOSE.
Time isn't that difficult, really. You look at your schedule, move some stuff around, explain to people what you're doing, and figure out a reasonable TIME frame in which to accomplish your goals. ENERGY is a piece of cake! You can master that every time you decide to Push Play! Doing P90X or any other kind of physical activity will automatically propel you into one of the most important "Bliss Maker" categories. PURPOSE is probably the most difficult and complicated variable when it comes to long-term success and bliss.
Woman in BlissPursuing your bliss by means of dishonesty, manipulation, coercion, or the need to seek self-aggrandizement will backfire worse than any short-term pleasure ever will. If your spiritual pursuits give you a holier-than-thou attitude, all your learned dogma will fall on deaf ears. If you exercise hard and long just to look hot at your high school reunion, then talk to me the next day when the show is over. If you start looking for adventure for the sole purpose of acquiring trophies, will you still enjoy it if you fail?
If you ever chase any of these areas of life for the PURPOSE of looking for attention, accolades, and kudos from others, then you are doomed to a life of confrontation, depression, confusion, illusion, and delusion. I never said pursuing your bliss was easy. That's why most people who try it fail.
You can avoid failure by pursuing your bliss with clarity, wisdom, acceptance, vulnerability, patience, consciousness, and truth. These words, in both the selfish and selfless ilk, represent intent. Your intent is everything and the only thing that matters when it comes to the right use of will.
I believe that real lifelong change and bliss are achieved over the course of three separate stages:
  1. Recognition. Knowing and understanding that there must be a shift in the way you approach certain segments of your life and an undaunted willingness to want to make a change.
  2. Catharsis. The period of time you spend venting, releasing, and unleashing the emotions that keep you from your bliss.
  3. Application. The employment and utilization of the tools you've learned at the cathartic stage.
If you can move through these three stages with the right intentions, then you will know what it's like to live on this earth in a state of bliss.
Peace,
Tony H.

FINISH STRONG IN 2011 by Mike French

FINISH STRONG...that is my mantra for 2011 & beyond. No matter what I do in my Life, I am going to FINISH STRONG.

How do you FINISH STRONG you might ask? Here is how:

1.) PREPARATION: Hard work with out being prepared is just flailing about. You won't accomplish anything no matter how much you want it. Its like not having the proper supplements because you forgot to buy more. Heading to workout & realizing you don;t have any clean shorts. The preparation for whatever you want to accomplish is where all the hard work is done. My LA Marathon in 2011 is NOTHING compared to all the training runs leading up to it. That is where you set yourself up to be a winner; by preparing.

2.) FOCUS: You need to develop laser like focus on what you want to achieve. Multi-tasking is great but it also take your emphasis off of what you truly NEED to accomplish. Do one thing at a time as well as you possibly can. If you don't, you will be mediocre at everything. Slow down, FOCUS & accomplish your goals, one at a time. Prioritize & focus on what is truly important in accomplishing your goals.

3.) BE REALISTIC: Really take a look at your goals either Fitness or Business. If you are 325 pounds right now, don't expect a six pack in 6 months. If you are an Emerald Team Beachbody Coach, don't expect to be a 5 Star Diamond by years end. Things take TIME, no matter how hard you work. Patience is a virtue, exercise it to stay realistic, positive, & moving FORWARD.

4.) WORK HARD: There is no substitute for HARD WORK. Let me say it again, there is no substitute for HARD WORK. Successful people, unless you are Paris Hilton, actually busted their butt to achieve success in their Life. You need to grind it out. Dig in & see what you are made of. If you think you are working hard, take a look at people that you want to emulate. Watch how hard they work for their Business or Fitness success. 1/2 effort = 1/2 results. If you are doing P90X, TurboFire, & a 5 run in the same day, you are not working hard on ANYof it. Sorry if this is a kick in the face for you, but its the truth.

5.) DEVELOP AN ADAMANTIUM POSITIVE MINDSET: Don't let negative comments, people or thoughts take root in your mind at any time. Negativity is POISON for your motivation, discipline, relationships, Fitness, & Business. Jealousy is even worse. There is nothing more pathetic than someone who allows the jealousy monster climb on their back. They complain about how this person is successful because they "get all the breaks". Yet they won't take one step forward to improve their own situation. Don't be that person. Don't allow that sickening feeling take you over & waste your time. Nothing but POSITIVE VIBESin 2011!

6.) BE LEGITIMATE: Don't try & be someone who you are not. Some people talk a good game & then don't back up their actions. Be true to yourself & the people that love you. Deception is evil & it will catch up with you eventually. You can only pull the wool over people's eyes for so long. Eventually they will realize what you are doing & then you will lose all respect, not only for yourself, but from other people. That is no way to live. Don't be that person that is ALWAYS looking for SHORTCUTS or to circumvent the system. Being praised for an accomplishment that you achieved in a "shady" way is a lie. Put in real effort, when you deal with people, speak from your heart. People will know the difference, believe me. When people see who you truly are, some people will like you & some won't. That is Life. At least you will be able to sleep soundly at night knowing that you are beingYOU.

7.) REST IS IMPORTANT: You can only burn the candle at both ends for so long before it catches up with you. You can't do double workouts 6 days a week for weeks on end. You will end up hurt, count on it. There is NOTHING wrong with taking an extra rest day if you truly need it. Make sure you get the sleep that you need to be mentally clear & recover from your workout schedule. Take some time off. Relax your mind & recharge your batteries. Obsessing about your Fitness or Business will lead to burn out. You don't want that. When you burn out is when negativity can rear its ugly head. Get your rest.

8.) FINISH STRONG: Simply put, FINISH STRONG in everything that you do in 2011. Use all of the tools above to propel yourself to where you want to be in your Life. FINISHING STRONG is a mindset. You are telling yourself every second of every day that you can take more, do more, & accomplish more. That is why after my 12 mile run yesterday, I did 25 jumping jacks & 25 push ups. That is why after I complete the 2011 LA Marathon I will cross the finish line & do 25 jumping jacks & 25 push ups. Realize that no matter how hard you work, you still have gas left in your tank. If you are taking in oxygen, you can do MORE!

FINISH STRONG in 2011. Why? Because there is no other way to really LIVE!

God Bless,

Mike
